Description
Itinerary:
Day One 8 Km
- 9.00 am Leave Falls Creek Village with a shuttle drop off at Heath Spur hiking trail that is a gradual climb overlooking the rocky valley dam and impressive high plain views.
- 10.30am Break on trail for morning tea or hot chocolate/snack
- 11.00am Depart for Johnson’s Hut.
- 12.30 pm Arrive Johnson’s hut via Marm’s Point overlooking Baker Spur and Mt Buffalo
- 1.00pm After settling into the pre set camp we can have Lunch at campsite under the stunning peak of Mt Nelse
- 1.45pm Explore Marm’s point and views of the high plains. (Option)
- 3.00pm Return to Camp and set up the evening fire and prepare for dinner
- 6.00pm Dinner by the fire side talk conditions permitting.
Day Two: 7 Km
- 8.00 am Breakfast of hot oats and eggs
- 9.00 am Leave camp for a good climb to Mt Nelse
- 10.30 am Overlook the NSW alps and enjoy a high plains morning tea/hot chocolate/snack
- 11.00 am Descent to Watch bed Creek along the infamous paralyser cross country ski trail
- 12.30 pm Arrive at Watch bed and transfer to Wallace’s hut Lunch of open sandwiches/soup and salads
- 1.00 pm Explore Wallace’s Hut and transfer back to Falls Creek.
- 2.00pm Return to Camp and set up the evening fire and prepare for dinner
- 2.30 pm Arrive at Falls Creek Village and farewell at 1550.

- All meals on tour, coffee, tea and cooking equipment.
- GPS, Medical kit
- Transfers to trail heads
What you need to bring:
- Attire suitable for potential harsh conditions, wool and layers are the best, include wind and waterproof jacket and pants.
- Warm Hat, light gloves and sun hat
- Sunglasses
- Water bottle 1 Litre minimum
- Sunscreen
- Toilet paper and basic daily body cleaning needs
- Three pairs of socks.
- Thermals and under garments
- Light Camp shoes like thongs or light shoes (optional)
Little facts that will help:
- The day pack will weigh between about 12 and 18 kilos.
- Medium level of fitness is required
- We will be able to have a fire on the night providing no total fire bans. Otherwise cooking can be done inside the hut with gas cookers.
- Food is supplied cryovac and planned to condsider any dietary needs and specific requirements.
- Practise walking up stairs with a weighted pack before hand if carrying a pack is something new.
