Meet: 4.00pm at Pretty Valley Lodge the night before for briefing and equipment fitting.

Start: Pretty Valley Lodge 8.30am.

Included: Guide, Ski Touring equipment, Camping equipment, All meals, Final Lunch at Falls Creek Hotel.

Rating: Medium to high stamina required.

Lift ticket not included.

Overview:

This is an ideal tour for those wishing to learn how to ski with a weighted pack and experience the first time overnight snow camping. We mainly ski gentle to easy terrain and enjoy the beauty of being close but still away from the resort of Falls Creek.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

8.30am: Meet at Pretty Valley Lodge

9.00 am:Depart For the Rocky Knolls Via Ruined Castle Chair Lift

10.00 am: Descend Pretty Valley Road

11.00am: Set Camp at the Pretty Valley Cattleyards

12.00pm: Set off to tour the backside of the Rocky Knolls

1.00pm: Arrive top of the Knolls for Lunch.

1.00 Ski the Rocky Knolls to the valley floor.

3.00pm Arrive to Pretty Valley Camp for evening dinner and outside camp fire.

Day 2

7.00 am: Rise for a hot Breakfast, coffee and morning Tea.

8.30am: Depart for Tawonga Huts Saddle ski tour

9.30am: Arrive the top of Ben Cooper memorial and take in the view of Mt Feathertop.

9.45am: Ski back towards Pretty Pondage and return to camp.

11.00am: Break Camp ski tour back to Falls Creek and Rocky Knolls

12.30 pm: Arrive Falls Creek Hotel for Lunch at Falls Creek Motel.

2.30pm: Farewell and return equipment.

Amazing experience! I got to see a whole side of Falls Creek that I never have before in 24 years skiing at the resort. Macca was the complete professional guide and very knowledgeable about the local area. Perfect corn snow on Mt McKay for a perfect adventure. Am looking forward to the next trip!
